How to pose in public with confidence?
Now, I can still remember the days back when I first started blogging and shooting outfit pictures in public. It was weird. Extremely weird. And I'm actually not only talking about blogger shootings in public- I'm talking about simple tourist photos as well because I know this can be quite hard too.
Let's say you're in this wonderful new city for holidays and want to take an epic and instagramable photo in front of this popular building. You already have the exact idea in your mind how the photo should look like but it quite difficult to really put it into action when you have lots of people around staring at you when you try to shoot this photo.
It takes a lot of self-confidence!
1. FEEL COMFORTABLE IN YOUR OUTFIT
This just has to be my number one tip. I've experienced it so many freaking times when I was trying to pose for a picture in public but not feeling comfortable in my outfit. It just makes you feel even more insecure about this whole situation. So definitely try to always choose an outfit you're 100% comfortable with when you know you're going to take a lot of pictures in front of other people. We don't want you to look insecure about your self 'cause that's when people start to stare even more.
2. KNOW YOUR BEST ANGLES AND POSES
This tip is really helpful when you don't have a lot of time to get the shot and this can actually happen quite a lot on touristic places. Sometimes you even have to wait in line until you have a few seconds to get the shot and hope you look good in it. With knowing your angles and the best poses for you, you can pose a lot quicker and get more shots done in a small amount of time. Don't worry about the people waiting in line to get their picture done- just focus on yourself!
3. IGNORE PEOPLE AROUND!
I know that this is quite hard sometimes and I do still struggle around with it in some situations but you just need to think about yourself. Think about the beautiful picture you can make and don't get irritated because of people who might stare at you. Maybe they're looking at you because they think you're pretty? Or because they like your outfit! Think that way :)
4. WEAR SUNGLASSES
If nothing helps, you can also wear your sunglasses. It not only looks cool in pictures- it also pushes your self-confidence and you don't have to look all the people around directly into their eyes. I always feel a bit more relaxed when I was my sunglasses on while shooting.
