PLAYING DRESSED UP

❞THE GOOD OLD PENCIL SKIRT.❝ We have seen him every where, on the runways, in the magazines, on print, on the streets... THE PENCIL SKIRT. I have to admit that I am a new member in the pencil-skirt-lover's-club because I used to really dislike the length and shape of them, but now, I am a proud new fan. Pencil skirts are so classy and elegant and you can literally wear them to any occasion, you can even dress them down for a casual daytime wearable look. I decided to go with a full on pencil skirt look (that's how I like to call it) for this article since this is, in my opinion, the best way to pair a pencil skirt: HIGH HEELS.

You can love or hate them but I definitely love them. Since those skirts are quite long and always going down until your knees, I like to wear them with some high heels so I don't look like a tiny little thing walking around... But let's get back to our topic of the day: The pencil skirt: What exactly is a pencil skirt? Well, the answer is simple: It is a slim fitting skirt with a straight, narrow cut. Generally it goes just below the knee and is tailored for a close fit. AND it is named for it's shape: long and slim, just like a pencil. Easy, huh? The best way to wear a pencil skirt is probably like a suit which is kind of what I did for this look. It gives the whole look a sophisticated, strong and sexy yet classy and elegant look. Wanna know a little bit more of the history of the pencil skirt? Here you go⟹ Christian Dior introduced the first classic pencil skirt in his 1954 Autumn/Winter collection which was a huge success. After that, the pencil skirt became super popular especially for the office wear.
